In order to create good pop music, the particular that is expressed must be universal. But the particular and only the particular must be expressed. The particular is used to create a universal. The universal creates then a simulation within the listener's mind. The simulation is more potent, more real than real. Perhaps even hyper real. Within the listener must coexist that feeling of idealization with the belief that hyper reality is in fact reality. Often times this hyper reality or idealized form of emotional depth and feeling exists within our memories. There is a purity that exists within the particular. The more particular an element, the more pure it ends up being. Which means. The more universal it also ends up being. For the pure and universal is analogous. There is pleasure to be found in both the chaos of the mind and reality and also the illusory idealizations of perfection. But perhaps the true purity exists in the balance between the two, for that balance reflects reality in its most truest form. That is the balance between the dionasium and the apolonian. Because we construct song as simulation, we construct the song thinking that each moment will be repeated through eternity. That is the mindset of creation that takes place and that's why we yearn and fawn over words so much to try to achieve our illusory perfection. There is a balance that must be achieved between raw and polished. The human and the God. The perfect and the imperfect. In the music we create a raw simulation of the soul. One that yearns to find unity in its fragmentation. A one that can also find it, the possibility to exist. That is a reality that we live in, even though that sensation doesn't exactly exist in our actual reality. There are three fields that a human needs to understand in order to have a firm grasp on reality. They are physics, philosophy, and psychology. Physics because you have to understand the laws of our universe. The physical laws that govern us have an immutable truth within them that is certifiable by our existence. Psychology is important because it helps us understand the lens through which we understand our world. It gives us an understanding of how information is processed, and the information that we find useful, particular, and interesting to us holds a truth within the universality of our thoughts. Philosophy is important because it is the framework which aligns psychology and physics together. It is the bridge and intermediary upon which we can unify the physical world and the psychological inside. That is why it is the most theoretical. Theory has no proof that is completely undeniable. We can only refer to the outside and the inside. It is a reference of a reference. After all physics and psychology don't really have laws, they only have theories. So it's kind of like a theory of a theory. And that is where we lie. We neither exist only in the physical outside world or solely within our brain. If we did we would be something like animals or a dream. Philosophy is born from the intersection of the real and the immaterial, the outside world, and the inside mind. It is the most human of all disciplines. create my music - reconstruct reality as if i was my unconscious creating a dream. only in the unconscious does the universal and particular coexist perfectly. in reality too but it is hidden. in fact i must have this mentality every time i engage in the act of creation. creation is sacred, godlike, and i must try to create in the most pure way. the dream method is simply method that is better than nearly everything i thought of because it's so easy and it gives me a fresh perspective on how to achieve a harmony and balance between the universal and particular. you must be careful not to focus too much on either, as they are not the focus but rather the meaning and symbolism behind them. but they themselves are 100% real too, not simply derivative.
